Three-position carrier: standard feed operation, prevent rounds from coming out of magazine tube or to keep carrier out of way when loading the magazine tube: 1st position, the carrier is in its standard position with the magazine cutoff pushed back and disengaged. 2nd position, the magazine cutoff is pushed forward to cut off rounds from being fed from the magazine tube. 3rd position, the carrier is pushed all the way up and then the magazine cuttoff is pushed forward to keep the carrier out of the way when loading the magazine tube.
