CIVIVI Yonder 2.88 in Folding Knife

Design Story – In Autumn 2023, I designed the Yonder knife—an idea sparked during long conversations and shared experiences with my friend Ben while I was in Montana. Built to be a medium-sized, durable, and ergonomic blade, the Yonder is crafted for everyday use and accessible to a wide range of budgets. In collaboration with the trusted team at CIVIVI Knives, we refined the concept to strike a balance between utility and affordability. This knife became more than just a tool—it became the physical embodiment of my creative vision, a product born from passion, purpose, and connection. My childhood was shaped by the contrasting landscapes of urban Las Vegas and rural Nevada, a backdrop steeped in pioneer grit and cowboy spirit. That foundation planted a deep-rooted desire to explore the world beyond what I knew. Inspired by Louis L’Amour’s Education of a Wandering Man, I’ve always been guided by an internal compass—what L’Amour called yondering: the urge to venture into the unknown. This idea captured my imagination and defined my path. Naming my first knife Yonder felt right. It represents not only the adventures I’ve taken but the ones still waiting on the horizon. It’s a symbol of curiosity, freedom, and timeless exploration.
