Durable Construction

The Kaitum 4 GT’s outer tent is made from Kerlon 1200 high-tenacity ripstop nylon with a triple silicon coating, providing strong tear resistance and dependable weather performance without excess weight. Inside, the 30-denier ripstop nylon inner tent carries a durable water-repellent finish to help keep condensation at bay, while the 70-denier polyurethane-coated groundsheet stands up to rough terrain. A generous front vestibule keeps boots and packs out of your sleeping space, and everything stows neatly in the included carry bag, along with guylines and stakes.

Material Details

Denier measures the thickness of nylon yarn—30 D fabrics offer a light yet sturdy tent body, while a 70 D floor gives extra abrasion resistance underfoot. Silicon coatings bond to the nylon filaments on both sides, making the flysheet more flexible and less prone to stretch, and polyurethane coatings on the groundsheet create a robust barrier against moisture and wear. With a trail weight of 3.9 kg (4.6 kg fully equipped), the Kaitum 4 GT remains manageable for multi-day group treks without sacrificing toughness.

The Kaitum and Kaitum GT models are highly versatile all-season tents. Providing a superb balance of remarkably light weight, comfort, and high strength, they are an excellent choice for those who prefer the flexibility of a two entrance, two vestibule design, but don’t necessarily require the extra strength of our Black Label Keron models. For those wanting even more space, the Kaitum GT model’s extended vestibule offers that with very little weight pen­alty. The standard sized vestibules can be fully rolled away for tre­mendous venting, while the GT’s extended vestibule has an entrance on each side for more entry/exit and venting options. Its front section can also be rolled back to create a very protected “covered porch.”
Backpackers, paddle tourers and cyclists will appreciate the Kaitum’s roominess, light weight, and small packed size.
